New details have emerged on why the celebrated radio journalist Meddie Nsereko Ssebuliba a.k.a Jjogo Musajja Wakakaba left CBS FM which he has worked with spanning to 29 years.
News reports had earlier indicated that Nsereko Ssebuliba career at the Buganda Kingdom’s radio station had recently ended when its management arrived on the decision of dropping him, despite his perennial service there.
However, Blazer News Times has exclusively established from insiders who preferred to speak on condition of anonymity that, Ssebuliba is in Canada on “Kyeeyo”, literally to mean casual work, from which he will now be earning a living.
Reports had first indicated that Ssebuliba is in the UK following his medical leave from his employer in October for optical treatment, going missing on air for quite long, which sparked public speculation that he might have been sacked.
For that reason, the radio station management had clarified in a statement that he was soon returning to the work as soon as his UK medical leave lapsed.
But sources say that he had left for Canada where he is building a new life. It is said that the brown shaven Ssebuliba’s departure from the Mmengo based broadcaster was preceded by a mutual understanding between its management and himself for avoidance of public contradiction.
Before his departure, Ssebuliba was the host of Kiriza Oba Gaana, a political talk show on CBS Emmanduso 89.2, Alive and Kicking Show on Sunday morning and Palamenti Yaffe on Saturdays, all on 88.8 CBS.
Musajja Wakakaba 64, joined CBS in 1996. He later replaced Mulindwa Muwonge who left with Peter Ssematimba for Super FM.
Efforts to talk to Ssebuliba and CBS management by press time were futile, but sources told Blazer News Times that the management was in preparations to release a statement over the matter any time from now.
