Exclusive: Punches and Bickering Dominate DP Headquarters as Secretary General Siranda Accused of Betraying Mao for His Rival Ssebamala.

The October 15th Wednesday Democratic Party (DP) management meeting turned rowdy as some leaders departed from one of the party’s core value of using the brain as power to settle any emerging dispute when they resorted to a bitter physical fight, bringing the party business to a standstill for a longtime.

This weekly management meeting which is a composition of representatives from the relevant party departments and organs, had been called by the party president general Nobert Mao at the party headquarters along Balintuma road in Kampala, to strategize for the party as usual.

Blazer News Times has exclusively established from the highly placed sources in DP that the meeting that saw some leaders attend via zoom, included among other attendees; president general Nobert Mao, secretary general Gerald Siranda, Sarah Adong- head of the women league, Kennedy Mutenyo- electoral commission chairperson, Herbert Rutagwera- organizing secretary and Martin Wakooli- party’s accountant.

Bickering and fighting was sparked by the insults thrown by the secretary general Siranda who was attending via zoom at the party’s elections boss Mutenyo who was physically attending, after Mutenyo faulted him for wrongly giving out the party parliamentary tickets to the Bukoto central MP Richard Ssebamala fronted agents, yet he had proven to be a nemesis of the sitting Nobert Mao administration, which is against the party’s internal rules.

Citing one mukyala Balojja (Kyotera district woman MP aspirant) and some other aspirants in Busoga region, Mutenyo lost his cool in retaliation as he called Siranda a usurper of his commission’s power that over sees electoral matters, a well-organized scheme that was aimed at frustrating Mao’s leadership by the Ssebamala forces.

He also accused Siranda of attempting to deploy to DP his uncouth conduct that resulted into expulsion from his former UPC party.

As Mutenyo’s verbal artillery gained momentum, the pro Gerald Siranda allies Rutagwera, Wakooli and Adong quickly rounded him up as they fell on him like a dropped ripe mango fruit with physical assault in which palm fists were thrown at each other, forcing the private party security personnel to rush in to rescue the situation.

All that time fighting raged on when the president general Mao had already left midway of the meeting to prepare for a talk show with one television station in town where he had been invited to shed light on some matter of public interest.

With this un precedented dishonorable conduct, Blazer News Times has been compelled investigate and uncover what exactly is happening in DP. We will keep you posted in our next editions.
