The Laroo Pece constituency MP elect Nobert Mao camp must be in jubilation and smiling after registering success in attracting one of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party big shots Gen. Severino Kahinda Otafire, who according to the sources resolved to throw his weight behind their candidate. (Mao).
Gen. Otafire’s presaged support to Mao according to the highly placed sources is not a one man’s considering the developments within the NRM party.
Reliable sources inside the ruling NRM government confirmed to Blazer News Times that the outspoken retired National Resistance Army (NRA) bush war general is not alone into this game to profess support to the Democratic Party (DP) president general.

Ever not mincing his words, brave, bold and courageous, Gen. Otafire, is currently holding the portfolio of an Internal Affairs Minister in president Yoweri Museveni’s NRM government. He is also among a few surviving pioneer members of the Front for National Salvation (FRONASA), a military outfit that morphed into NRA which propelled the ruling government to power through an armed struggle.
Otafire and some other NRA Historicals declared support to now incumbent speaker Annet Among’s main challenger Mao according to sources, has mounted panic in her camp that is already struggling to retain the seat which has so far attracted six candidates including an incumbent.
The four other aspirants include; the Aringa South MP Alion Odria, Mbale District Woman MP Lydia Wanyoto and Bukono MP also State Minister for Housing Persis Namuganza.
Sources say, in ensuring that their team doesn’t encounter any mis coordination, meetings will soon start to be held aimed at laying down more winning strategies that should propel Mao at the helm of Uganda’s legislature.
Gen. Otafire now joins other military generals; Gen. Kainerugaba Muhoozi and Salim Saleh whom the sources claim already command un wavering support to the proud Acholi land boy.
