On Tuesday 29th, president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni the Commander In Chief (CIC) of all armed forces also the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party chairperson, held an emergency meeting with her embattled head of his Kyambogo based office (Office of National Chairperson- ONC) Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo following the Witdrawal of her security detail, Blazer News Times can exclusively report.
Hadijah Namyalo’s security detail composed of the Presidential Police Guard (PPG) had been withdrawn on Tuesday after some pro Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) supporters accused her through socials including X formerly Twitter, of what they called growing disrespect to their chairman Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
They cited the recent mobilized group of youth in Mbale that declare that Gen Museveni will be on the ballot come 2031.
According to some PLU members, Namyalo’s action was a misrepresentation of the NRM party position, considering that their team captain had put out a declaration presaging his presidential bid come 2031, working with president Museveni as his chief campaigner.
In the statement posted on his X account earlier this week, the PLU’s general secretary Twalla Fadil maintained that Gen. Kainerugaba will be on the ballot, requesting Namyalo to desist from what he called provoking them and confusing Ugandans with un sanctioned, attention seeking, ill-intentioned endorsement stunts.
“I wish to state categorically that Gen.@mkainerugaba, our PLU chairman will be on the ballot come 2031, and that, according to him, the Father of the Nation HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa will be his chief campaigner,” Reads in part his statement.
Fadil further stated that “in the previous election, the NRM Secretariat and PLU came together under the auspices of Tuko Pamoja to support not only H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa but all candidates from the presidency down to LC1”
However, highly placed sources in NRM that are familiar with the matter exclusively told this news website that Namyalo was immediately called to go and meet Mzee who had just left Fort Portal where he was presiding over the coronation ceremony of the new Tooro Kingdom King Edward Rukidi Nyabongo 1 during the day.
Details of the meeting outcome remained scanty by the time this news report was compiled, but sources confirmed it was prompted by the perceived sharp public dispute between the Musevenists and some pro PLU members.
Who Ordered Namyalo to Declare Gen Museveni’s 2031 Presidential Bid?
Insiders alleged that Namyalo had received clearance from her boss himself following the current political developments.
They related it to the president’s recently demonstrated un usual physical standing posture as he officiated the mega minister Milly Babalanda’s thanks giving ceremony at Iringa primary school in Buyende district, which they said was a clear message that “Mzee” was still around beyond 2026.
The event hosted by the Budiope West MP(Babalanda), was organized to thank God and the president for her re appointment as minister for presidency. She was the first to declare that the president was committed to lead Uganda beyond 2031, confirming he will be on the ballot in 2031 while addressing the district political and technical leaders from Ankole, Kigezi, Kasese, Bunyoro and Tooro sub regions at the National Leadership Institute in Kyankwanzi on Tuesday 1 September 1, 2026.
Her declaration also met resistance from the PLU member, culminating into her public apology via her X account.
