A section of the Ntinda based BABA TV staff has expressed dissatisfaction with how their company’s owner Moses Balyeku’s has treated what they have called a traumatic experiential matter, involving an enforced disappearance of one of their own, journalist Eria Jjengo whose whereabouts remain un known.
Jjengo was abducted on Thursday 10, September, 2026 by the un known men wearing plain clothes who bundled him in the Noah vehicle escorted by a Toyota Premio car when he had temporarily stepped out of his work station (BABA TV) in Ntinda, and later sped off to un known location.
The said abductors have since then been linked to the security agencies by the Uganda Journalists Association (UJA) in the statement.
BABA TV staff exclusively told Blazer News Times that since Jjengo went missing, no concrete efforts have ever been made by Balyeku’s to champion the rescue front for his missing staff.
One of the visibly concerned staff cited his refusal to add his voice on other players during the September Monday 14 press conference, held at the TV premises in Ntinda.
The maiden press conference was addressing the circumstances surrounding Jjengo’s abduction.
The staff added, the big man declined to address the matter despite the request by his TV senior managers to join them in asking for the authorities to investigate and establish the whereabouts of their staff.
“He was upstairs at the station that day but declined to address the matter. He excused himself that he would over shadow the press conference had he joined in”, One of the staff familiar with BABA TV internal business told this news Website.
Another staff said, he had not intervened into another staff’s controversial arrest by the security some times back.
However, they said that following an intensified search campaign by the journalists, the media owner posted on his X account on Wednesday September 16th, inquiring about the whereabouts of his missing staff.
“As chairperson of Baba Media Group, I am deeply concerned about the continued disappearance of our colleague, Jjengo Eria, a journalist attached to @ babatvuganda newsroom”.
This comes as Jjengo’s whereabouts remain unknown now for more than two weeks.
