Mattress dealing company Grace Form is under the spotlight following the allegations linking it to a grand corruption scheme involvement, resulting into tax evasion, Blazer News Times has learnt.
Part of the said corruption scheme according to some of the concerned local Mattress Manufacturers and producers (names withheld), is informed by the current time long tax holiday that is being enjoyed by Grace Form.
Sources claim that the process through which the said tax holiday was born out, was irregular, raising concerns of tax evasion.
It is alleged by the sources familiar with the matter that the disputed Mattress dealing company tax holiday was influenced through parliament by one of its senior administrators (names withheld) without going through normal procedures, thus raising query and a claim of corruption.
The local Mattress producers claim that the alleged scheme poses serious effect on to the industry landscape where they belong, with a view of selective and unfair tax enforcement policy.
“Unlike Grace Form, we locally manufacture Mattresses and pay taxes but face competition from a company that irregularly enjoys a tax holiday” One of the local manufacturing company agents claimed in an interview with this news Website.
The said company is operating outlets in Kampala capital, Jinja city and Mbale, according to sources.
They now want the said tax holiday grant be reviewed and retracted considering that it did not follow normal procedures.

One of its managers who had been reached out by this news Website for clarification on the matter said he had forwarded it to the higher management level to provide response and get back, which had not happened by press time, despite taking more than a month.
