Exclusive: DP Secretary General Siranda Humiliated as Approached His Boss Mao to End their Differences.

The troubled Democratic Party (DP) secretary general Gerald Blacks Siranda earlier this month of September faced humiliation when he sought an audience from his party president general Nobert Mao aimed at ending the feud between the two senior party leaders.

The growing dispute between the dual was triggered by Siranda’s public denouncement of Mao’s parliament speakership bid when he endorsed his rival Annet Anita Among (NRM), insisting that she was the fittest for the job.

It played out in the wake of an internal sharp accusation of financial mismanagement against Siranda by his fellow senior leaders, which he denies.

It has now emerged from some of insiders who exclusively spoke to Blazer News Times on condition of anonymity that Siranda met with Mao at his home in Kampala and remorsefully sought forgiveness from Mao that they bury their differences and work together again.

Siranda according to the insiders apologized to mitigate the growing internal animosity designed to frustrate reelection bid for his current East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) seat.

In this, the DP secretary general sought to win back the angry Mao’s heart who had vowed never to endorse his reelection bid citing intrigue and disloyalty.

However, Mao according to insiders informed Siranda that it was instead the National Executive Committee (NEC) to determine his matter since it was in its hands.

He then urged the party’s secretary general to use his powers to convene the NEC that it may pronounce itself regarding the same.

Siranda, Mao’s meeting came at the time when the list of DP members expressing interest into Siranda’s seat had gained expansion. Former MP Leandra Komakech is one of those that are being fronted to face off with incumbent Siranda.

At the moment the two elephant’s fight has pushed the oldest Ugandan party in cronyism, divided camps and growing tensions.

Siranda is not in good terms with some senior DP leaders including the Electoral Commission (EC) boss Kennedy Mutenyo whom he had attempted to sack for questioning his exaggerated mandate over him, but aggressively fought back by declining never to vacate his office.
