Tension is high among the Kampala city lord mayor Eng. Ronald Balimwezo’s staff, following the reported attack on his deputy Faridah Nakabugo’s KCCA mayoral office by the security personnel on Thursday afternoon.
The Thursday afternoon attack is said to have been triggered by the release of several suspects who are said to have been held in detention by the KCCA enforcement teams from its Kampala trade order operations.
Speaking exclusively to Blazer News Times, the deputy lord mayor Faridah Nakabugo claimed that the KCCA enforcement had removed money from the said suspects whom they later detained at city hall while fully packed in one room.
Nakabugo said that upon sensing flaws into their detention, they severally reported the matter to the police authorities but in vain.
She alleged that locking some of the detainees in her office prompted her to release them on Thursday at around 3 pm, which reciprocated by the security raid of the city hall with operatives moving in the drones looking for her.
“Nowhere I had not reached. Our lord mayor’s office had gone to CPS, talked to KMP over the same but they had refused to release the people”, She stated.

“They have keys for all offices, how can you reach in your office when they have locked detainees in it?”
Nakabugo accused the KCCA security of breaking her office with impunity, forcing to run to his Balimwezo’s office for safety.
“Detainees in KCCA offices were released by myself, it is the reason they intend to arrest me”.
