Blazer News Times can exclusively report that he will no longer be among the signatories on the party’s bank accounts following a directive issued by the party president general Nobert Mao, scrapping him.

Mao’s directive was issued during the heated weekly Wednesday 20 May 2026 Management meeting held at the party’s Balintuma road office, to assess various developments in the party.

The said meeting which was under the chairpersonship of the party president was attended by Siranda himself and among other party figures Owek Mary Babirye Kabanda-treasurer, Sarah Adong- head of women league and Herbert Rutagwera- organizing secretary.

According to some of the attendees (whose names withheld), Mao firmly informed the meeting that Siranda’s ejection from the role was informed by many voices inside the party, complaining against him for persistently mis using the party funds.

It was against this backdrop that he directed for his removal from among the party signatories with immediate effect until investigations into his said corrupt dealings have been completed.

This according to the Insiders triggered sharp bickering and quarreling from Siranda and some of his pro team players during the meeting, while protesting the president general’s directive, but in vain.

Insiders quoted Mao assertively emphasizing to his once highly trusted secretary general that he is the party president general, and therefore, whatever he did was within his constitutional powers.

Mao’s prohibitive orders to Siranda reflects an escalated frost relationship between the two. It followed Siranda’s public endorsement of then NRM’s aspiring candidate for the speakership seat Among in March at the expanse of his party fronted candidate (Mao), culminating into accusations of betrayal on Siranda.

    Siranda

Reminiscing his switched loyalty during the time Mao needed his support most and for other party cadres during his rough parliament speakership campaign bid, insiders quoted Mao vowing never to avail again his support for EALA seat to the incumbent Siranda.

It is understood that various DP members including Wakabi Joseph Abiam-party’s Busoga Sub-region representative and Dr. Leandra Komech, have started expressing interest into the seat to replace Siranda.

Before getting scrapped from the signatories, Siranda had first declared never to attend any party activity including press conferences, which is why Mao has not been flanked by him

Our efforts to seek a comment from Siranda were futile. However, he has often told the media that his relationship with Mao is cordial, dismissing reports portraying any widening rift between the two.
